Last night I filled in as a last minute speaker at the June meeting of the WestSide Modern Quilt Club, which meets at The Pine Needle Quilt Shop in Lake Oswego, when the scheduled speaker got sick. I did what's called a trunk show of some of my quilts, showing how my quilting has evolved over time. It was a blast! Because of working at my job until I retired, then writing the book, I've been pretty much a hermit quilter. But I look forward to participating in groups now!
It was so rewarding to connect with other quilters! I also talked about how the book Pieces of Portland by Quiltlandia fit into my quilting journey and was so surprised and grateful that so many were interested in the book! So interested they bought many copies! Maybe we won't end up with a full basement of books after all!
I also really appreciate the hospitality and graciousness of the Pine Needle owner, Geri. There are now some books available for purchase there! Along with awesome fabric, of course!
